What a fantastic movie. Going to the theater I expected mindless violence nonstop with some good film-making somewhere in between. What I got was a lot of great film-making, an incredibly written plot line, some of the best acting I've seen (from Javier Bardem), several tense moments and some really badass action. What I especially did not expect was the comedy. Throughout the movie clever jokes were cracked and one character even woke to an enthusiastic mariachi band after passing out in Mexico. The three main character's plots twisted and intertwined and were resolved in a expertly pulled off and inevitable ending. I highly recommend this movie, though it it is DEFINITELY not for children or the faint of heart.

I've now seen every Best Picture nomination but two: Atonement and Micheal Clayton.
